90' ARSENAL HOPE FOR A MIRACLE
A dreadful opening half saw the Gunners behind to two goals from Toni Kroos and Thomas Muller and seemingly without hope. However, a piece of luck gifted the home side a chance. Santi Cazorla's shot had deflected off Lukas Podolski and should have been a goal kick, but the referee point for a corner. The resulting cross was lost by Manuel Neuer and Lukas Podolski was able to head home. However, Arsenal blew their chance by allowing Bayern to take control of the tie with a third goal by Mario Mandzukic. The home side were outclassed for much of the match and have it all to do in Germany.

Bayern come again and Mario Gomez tries to fashion a chance from an impossible angle. However, he does win a corner.

Bayern Munich look to have done their job and they are happy to sit back, allowing Arsenal to have some of the ball.

Arsenal have really struggled in the final third. Tomas Rosicky gets between the defence and the midfield and is allowed to turn, but the Arsenal man fails to pick out the run of Olivier Giroud.

Wojciech Szczesny does well to save a deflected shot, but Mario Gomez gets to the rebound first. However, the striker snatches at the chance and it fails to trouble the keeper.

A high ball is sent towards Theo Walcott and the winger does really well to control it, but he is in a tight corner that Munich just don`t let him out of.

Great play by Arjen Robben as he picks out the run of Philipp Lahm on the overlap. The right back fires in his cross and Mario Mandzukic gets in front of Bacary Sagna. The striker ricochets his shot off the turf and into the goal.
75' ARSENAL GO TO SLEEP
Arjen Robben plays a corner short and collects the return without a defender blinking an eye. However, Per Mertesacker wakes up just in time to enable him to head the cross away.

A big chance for Arsenal as Theo Walcott crosses for Olivier Giroud. The striker catches the shot well, but it is straight at Manuel Neuer although the keeper knows little about it.

Aaron Ramsey makes way for Tomas Rosicky and Lukas Podolski is replaced by Olivier Giroud. Theo Walcott will move into a wide position.

Lukas Podolski finally takes Philipp Lahm on and skins him. The forward steps inside on his right foot, but can't get the required curl on the ball to squeeze the shot into the far post.

A naughty tackle by Aaron Ramsey gives Bastian Schweinsteiger a chance to have a crack at goal from a free kick, but the midfielder fails to trouble Wojciech Szczesny.

Lukas Podolski loses the ball and Bayern are able to break. Arjen Robben makes a run off the shoulder of the last defender, but Toni Kroos holds the ball too long and when he does make the pass Robben is offside.

Arjen Robben comes on for Franck Ribery. Not a bad player to be able to bring on.

Toni Kroos sends an awful cross into the box, but the ball is returned to him and this time he hits a fine shot with the outside of his foot. Wojciech Szczesny is forced to tip the ball over.

Bayern Munich continue to go in heavy. Thomas Muller launches into a tackle and gives away a free kick. The midfieder also goes into the book.

Would you believe it. Santi Cazorla hits a shot that deflects off Lukas Podolski, but the referee gives a corner. Manuel Neuer loses the cross and Lukas Podolski heads the ball into an empty net. Game on.

Bayern look to release Mario Mandzukic, but Laurent Koscielny opens up his stride and manages to beat the striker to the ball.

What has happened to the Santi Cazorla who burst into his Arsenal career? Tonight the midfielder has been slow on the ball and unable to pick out runs with a pass.
47' GREAT PLAY
Bayern Munich are once again taking the game to Arsenal. Franck Ribery dances past a couple of challenges and sends a great cross in for Mario Mandzukic, but Laurent Koscielny just manages to clear.
46' SECOND HALF
We are back under way.
45' GUNNERS NIGHTMARE
The game could not have started any worse for Arsenal as they found themselves behind in the eighth minute to a stunning strike by Toni Kroos. The ball bobbled to the forward on the edge of the box and Kroos arced a strike off the turf and into the corner. However, worse was to come for the home team when Daniel Van Buyten was allowed a free header from a corner. Wojciech Szczesny managed to save, but Thomas Muller was on hand to stab the ball home. With just 21 minutes gone, Arsenal were once again facing the end of their Champions League dream and understandably they began to lose control of the game and their tempers. However, the home side managed to grow into the half and Arsene Wenger has the break to inspire his side to get something out of this match. And let's face it, you just never know with Arsenal.
45' HALF TIME
We have reached the break.
45' NO FREE KICK
Jack Wilshere bursts through the midfield and goes down on the edge of the box under a tackle. However, the referee shakes his head.
42' ARSENAL PRESSURE
Santi Cazorla again has space, but he tries to do too much and has to send the ball wide to Bacary Sagna. However, the full back fails to deliver the telling ball.
39' TOO SMALL
How Arsenal needed Olivier Giroud there. Arsenal escape down the left and clip a cross into Theo Walcott, but the striker is dwarfed by Daniel Van Buyten and the defender heads clear.
38' ALABA SLIP
Theo Walcott gets a chance as David Alaba falls over and gifts the ball to Bacary Sagna on the right. The full back finds Walcott in the area, but the striker takes too long and the defence closes him down.
37' YELLOW CARD
Thomas Muller becomes the first Bayern Munich player in the book as he dives into a challenge. Things continue to get spicy at the Emirates.
35' GREAT BLOCK
Half a chance for Arsenal as a ball drops nicely for Per Mertesacker. The defender catches his shot well, but sees it ping straight back off a defender.
32' GOOD HEADER
Santi Cazorla puts in a decent looking cross, but Philipp Lahm is equal to it and heads away.
29' POOR PASS
Theo Walcott manages to link play and picks out Santi Cazorla, but the Spaniard tries to be too cute with the pass and the ball ends up in Manuel Neuer's hands.
27' CROWDED OUT
Santi Cazorla tries to get something going for Arsenal, but no sooner does he get the ball than he is surrounded by two Munich players.
24' OUCH!
Despite the two-goal lead Bayern Munich are not letting up, not even in the tackle. Jack Wilshere starts an attempted counter attack, but Franck Ribery comes in late to leave the midfielder on the floor.
21' GOOAALL!
Absolutely terrible defending from Arsenal. Daniel Van Buyten is allowed to get his head to a corner first and steers the ball towards goal. Wojciech Szczesny does well to save, but Thomas Muller is the first to react and he knocks in the rebound.
20' MUNICH ON TOP
The away side are in complete control of this match at the moment. It is hard to see Arsenal coming away with anything.
16' TERRIBLE FREE KICK
Bayern Munich have another chance from a free kick after Arsenal again give the ball away, but Bastian Schweinsteiger scuffs his shot wide.
13' GREAT RUN
Arsenal are trying to break quickly and Theo Walcott has a chance to run at Philipp Lahm. The striker does well to keep the ball and feed Bacary Sagna, but Munich get back well and the full back fires his cross at the first defender.
11' POOR TACKLE
Bayern Munich get on the ball and Toni Kroos is looking to dictate play. The forward teases Arsenal and then goes down under the challenge. The away side have a free kick in a dangerous position.
8' GOOAALL!!
Ouch, that has to hurt the home fans. Thomas Muller bobbles a cross to the edge of the box and Toni Kroos gets to the ball first. The shot is into the ground, but shifts off the turf too quickly for Wojciech Szczesny and Munich are ahead.
6' GREAT COUNTER
Jack Wilshere carries the ball out of defence and finds the run of Bacary Sagna. The full back sends Theo Walcott away, but no one is in support of the striker and all Walcott can do is roll the ball across the six-yard box in hope.
3' EARLY CHANCE
Santi Cazorla finds himself in acres of space on the right and he tries to deliver a telling cross, but he hits the first man and Manuel Neuer is able to claim. Cazorla should have done a lot better there.

Javi Martinez returns for Bayern Munich and will partner Bastian Schweinsteiger in the centre of midfield. Former Manchester City defender Daniel Van Buyten starts at centre back.

Jupp Heynckes is taking nothing for granted even after Arsenal's loss to Blackburn. The Bayern coach has repeatedly warned his troops to be wary of tonight's opposition as he will surely be worried about the ire that recent media criticism might stir within the Gunners.
0' WENGER REACHING BOILING POINT
An Arsenal win tonight would be massive and would prove that much of what has been written since the weekend's defeat against Blackburn is stuff and nonsense. Have no doubt that a victory against Bayern Munich is worth more a lot more to Arsene Wenger than the FA Cup, but boy does he find himself under pressure to deliver.
0' WILL WOUNDED GUNNERS BITE BACK?
Which Arsenal will turn up? If it is any other than the one that Arsene Wenger believes in then it could be a long night ahead for the home fans as they face a strong Bayern Munich. The German side are boosted by the return of Javi Martinez, who alongside Bastian Schweinsteiger will form a midfield axis that has the potential to bully this Gunners team. However, following that defeat to Blackburn and resulting media savaging, Arsenal are wounded and they be surely be ready to fight for everything.
