Juventus vs. Celtic
Minute Commentary
90' FULL-TIME REPORT
Juventus waltzed through to the quarter-finals of the Champions League tonight, as expected, with Celtic offering very little in the way of resistance on a soaking wet night in Turin. The visitors started well but were dealt a hammer blow when Alessandro Matri tapped the Old Lady in front with 23 minutes on the clock. Gary Hooper and Biram Kayal had chances to level the scores on the night before half-time but couldn't take them - they were the best that Celtic could muster over the entirety of the game. Juventus' second of the night rubbed salt into the Scottish champions' wounds as Andrea Pirlo, Arturo Vidal and Fabio Quagliarella linked up brilliantly, with the latter finishing off the move. In truth, Neil Lennon's side already knew their European fate - and will be more concerned about hamstring injuries to Adam Matthews and Victor Wanyama. As for Juventus, they have to be counted among the favourites for the continent's top prize.
90' FULL-TIME WHISTLE
And it's all over. Juventus ease their way through to the quarter-finals of the Champions League, beating Celtic 2-0 on the night and 5-0 on aggregate.
90' FORREST ENERGY
Celtic's James Forrest has been a bundle of energy since coming on and attempts to beat Gianluigi Buffon from 30 yards out but the Italian stopper has no problem collecting the ball. There will be three minutes of added on time.
89' POGBA DOWN
Juventus have an injury issue, with Paul Pogba down on the sodden Juventus stadium turf. It isn't serious though and he is able to play on.
87' BHOYS INJURIES
Celtic's main concern as a result of this game will be the injuries to Adam Matthews and Victor Wanyama. Both were forced off with hamstring injuries and Neil Lennon will hope they won't be sidelined for too long as the club continue their quest for a Scottish double.
84' SAMARAS BLAST
That was a chance for Celtic, after some lovely build-up. James Forrest and Lassad link well before the latter lays the ball off to Georgios Samras on the edge of the Juventus area. Samaras blasts at goal but puts his shot over the bar.
81' CELTIC OUTCLASSED
The match has the feel of a pre-season friendly now as Juventus knock the ball about between themselves. Celtic can't wait for the final whistle to come - they have been well and truly outclassed over the two legs.
78' JUVE SOLID
Celtic are trying to commit players forward but Juventus' defence, even without Giorgio Chiellini who hasn't been used from the bench, has been fantastic and not allowed them an inch.
74' LASSAD ON
Celtic make another substitution, with the lively Kris Commons being replaced by Lassad as the visitors attempt to find a goal at least.
72' COMMONS BLAZES OVER
Kris Commons receives the ball on the edge of the Juventus area and tries a quick snap-shot but the toe-poked effort ends up going high over Gianluigi Buffon's goal.
70' PIRLO OFF
Juventus make their final change of the night, allowing star man Andrea Pirlo a rest. Fellow Italy international Emmanuel Giaccherini is on in his place.
68' QUAGLIARELLA GOAL
That's a lovely goal for Juventus. Andrea Pirlo picks out Arturo Vidal with an excellent floated pass. Vidal squares the ball back across the six-yard box for Fabio Quagliarella to tap it in. It's a really well-worked goal. That assist was Vidal's last contribution tonight as he's replaced by Mauricio Isla.
66' GOOOAAALLL!!!
It's in! Fabio Quagliarella doubles Juventus' lead.
66' IZAGUIRRE BOOKED
Emillio Izaguirre hasn't had the best of games and now sees himself get booked after sliding in late on Simone Padoin. Juventus are controlling the game now.
64' PIRLO OVERHITS
Emillio Izaguirre concedes a free-kick deep inside his own half and to the right of the penalty area. Andrea Pirlo floats a cross into the box but overcooks it and the ball sails out for a goal kick.
61' COMMONS SPECULATES
Kris Commons decides to try his chances from 30 yards out but Gianluigi Buffon is rarely troubled from that kind of distance - especially when the shot is straight down his throat.
60' ASAMOAH ON
Juventus make their first substitution, replacing Federico Peluso with Kwadwo Asamoah, in what is likely to be a like-for-like swap on the left side of the Old Lady's midfield.
58' AMBROSE CHANCE
James Forrest's first contribution of the game sees him pick out Georgios Samras at the back post inside the Juventus penalty area. The Greek striker heads the ball back across goal but the visitors have nobody around the penalty spot and instead Luca Marrone can clear. Moments later, Efe Ambrose fluffs a header from a corner kick.
56' JUVE INTERPLAY
Juventus are practically trying to walk the ball into the Celtic net. Alessandro Matri and Fabio Quagliarella swap passes inside the visitors' penalty area but there's one exchange too many and Kelvin Wilson can scramble the ball away.
53' MATTHEWS INJURED
Celtic have a problem as Adam Matthews goes down in a heap holding his hamstring after overstretching for the ball as Federico Peluso skipped past. James Forrest comes on to replace Matthews, with Efe Ambrose going to right back and Charlie Mulgrew reverting to centre back.
50' QUAGLIARELLA SHOT
The atmosphere in Turin is rather flat now - this tie is all but over. Fabio Quagliarella has the first chance of the half but his curling shot is fisted away by Fraser Forster.
46' BACK UNDERWAY
We're off again in Italy. Juventus haven't made any changes at the break but Neil Lennon has chosen to introduce Efe Ambrose in place of Victor Wanyama. Can Celtic find a goal for their supporters to cheer?
45' HALF-TIME REPORT
Celtic came into this match knowing that they had little chance of progressing to the quarter-finals of the Champions League. But they were out to restore some pride in Turin, and the early signs were promising as they pinned Juventus into their own half. However, like in the first leg, an individual mistake was to blame for them falling behind after 23 minutes. Fraser Forster tipped Fabio Quagliarella's effort straight into the path of Alessandro Matri, who tapped in to give the home side a 4-0 aggregate lead. Up until that point, a cobbled together Old Lady looked disjointed but, after the goal, they improved and could have added to their lead through Arturo Vidal. Neil Lennon's side haven't been starved of chances either though - Gary Hooper was milliseconds too late to connect with a Georgios Samaras cross and Biram Kayal headed straight at Gianluigi Buffon. With 45 minutes left of their European adventure, Celtic will hope, at the very least, to give their travelling supporters a goal to celebrate.
45' HALF-TIME WHISTLE
That's half-time in Turin. Juventus lead Celtic by a goal to nil, with the score 4-0 on aggregate.
45' VIDAL DRIVE
Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal has another opportunity to sprint at the Celtic defence. An intelligent run from Alessandro Matri opens it up for the Chilean to strike at goal but Fraser Forster is down well to save.
43' KAYAL HEADER
Emilio Izaguirre soon gets another chance to cross the ball from the left-hand side and this time he picks out a Celtic player. Biram Kayal gets his head to it but it's aimed straight at Gianluigi Buffon.
41' IZAGUIRRE OVERHITS
Celtic enjoy some sustained possession in the final third but that ends when Emilio Izaguirre puts too much on a cross into the Juventus area, looping the ball out of play for a goal kick.
37' HOOPER CHANCE
What a chance! Georgios Samaras sidles his way into the Juventus penalty area, making his way past Leonardo Bonucci before firing across the face of goal. Gary Hooper slides in at the back post but he's just too late to connect with the ball.
35' JUVE ON TOP
Celtic haven't enjoyed the same level of dominance since Juventus took the lead. In contrast, the hosts are looking brighter in all areas of the pitch and you wouldn't bet against them extending their lead before the half is over.
31' VIDAL WASTES
And Juventus should be two up. Another slick Juventus counter attack ends in Arturo Vidal getting slipped in on the edge of the right side of the Celtic penalty area. Vidal is in acres of space but his left-footed bending effort goes over the bar.
29' BUFFON SAVES
Celtic nearly have an equaliser. Kris Commons lets fly from range and the ball deflects off Gary Hooper, changing the direction of the shot. Gianluigi Buffon is wrong-footed but shows great agility to launch himself to his left and tip the ball away from goal.
26' MATRI FINISHES
Juventus win the ball in midfield and break with pace as Celtic are wide open in the final third. Fabio Quagliarella's initial shot is saved by Fraser Forster but the English goalkeeper can only parry the ball straight to Alessandro Matri who has the simplest of tap-ins from six yards out. Even three goals won't be good enough for Celtic to take this to extra time now.
24' GOOOAAALLL!!!
It's in! Alessandro Matri puts Juventus into the lead!
23' LEDLEY CLOSE
That's the closest either side have come to breaking the deadlock. Celtic's Joe ledley receives the ball 25 yards from the Juventus goal. He takes a touch before driving towards Gianluigi Buffon's top left-hand corner, but the shot ends up just wide. Buffon was worried, though, and it wasn't far away.
21' DISJOINTED JUVE
It's been a rather disjointed performance from Juventus so far and it's clear that a number of their key players are being rested for this game. In fairness to Celtic, they've not let the home side settle, and have continued to seize the initiative.
18' PELUSO BOOKED
The first yellow card of the night goes to Juventus' Federico Peluso. Adam Matthews beats the left-sided midfielder but is pulled back by Peluso, who gets cautioned.
15' POGBA SKILL
Paul Pogba is looking bright for the home side. He uses his strength to fend off Victor Wanyama before spinning on the ball and attempting to thread Fabio Quagliarella in. Fraser Forster dives on the ball and loses it initially, but smothers it at the second attempt.
12' KAYAL BLOCKED
Biram Kayal has Celtic's first shot of the match as his effort from the edge of the area is blocked by Andrea Barzagli. This is a promising start from the Bhoys who have played the majority of the opening ten minutes in Juventus territory.
10' MATRI COMPLAINTS
Juventus striker Alessandro Matri is complaining here as he believes he is being manhandled by the Celtic defence. First, Victor Wanyama hands him off before Kelvin Wilson shepherds him away from the ball. The referee isn't interested in awarding the home side any free-kicks though.
7' NO CHANCES
Leonardo Bonucci is put under pressure by Gary Hooper deep inside the Juventus half but the Celtic striker nudges the Italian defender, conceding a free-kick. There's been no real chances for either side here, early on.
4' POSITIVE CELTIC
Celtic have started the game positively but are yet to find their way through Juventus' excellent defensive setup. Georgios Samaras aims a cross towards Kris Commons but the Scottish international can't control the ball.
1' WE'RE OFF
Firat Aydinus gets us underway in a very rainy Turin, as Celtic, in their all-black change kit, take the kick-off. Qualification may be too much of an ask for the visitors, but can Neil Lennon's men avoid exiting the Champions League with a whimper?

0' JUVENTUS V CELTIC
Celtic travel to Turin this evening knowing that they need a genuine miracle to qualify. The Bhoys rued defensive errors which handed Juventus a 3-0 win at Celtic Park in the first leg, meaning Neil Lennon's side must score three times in Italy to have any chance of qualification. The Old Lady has conceded three goals at home just once since the start of 2011 and are currently six points clear at the top of the Serie A table - facts which illustrate how much the SPL champions will be up against it this evening. It's not quite a formality but only a seriously uncharacteristic defensive capitulation from Juventus will cost them a place in the Champions League quarter-finals.
0' JUVE TEAM NEWS
Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini returned to the first team in Friday's draw with Napoli after two months out with injury but he's unlikely to be risked with Antonio Conte's men in such a dominant position in this tie. Striker Nicolas Anelka and defender Martin Caceres are also harbouring slight back niggles and won't be included if not completely match fit for the same reason. Nicklas Bendtner, Paulo De Cegile and Simone Pepe are all longer term absentees with thigh injuries and remain sidelined.
0' CELTIC TEAM NEWS
Celtic are boosted by the return of striker Georgios Samaras. The Greek international played in the defeat to Motherwell in the SPL last week and should lead the line in Turin. Right-back Mikael Lustig will miss out though as he continues to nurse a thigh injury, while Scott Brown's ongoing abductor problems means he will also have to sit the game out.
0' CONTE'S VIEW
Juventus coach Antonio Conte said: "Qualification is obtained over 180 minutes, and so far we've only played 90. There is another 90 to go against a strong, proud team who will want to make amends for the first leg. The first leg has given us a seriously good chance of reaching the next round, but in football, there are always surprises. Celtic are a side capable of creating plenty of danger, we need to be fully focused."
0' LENNON'S VIEW
Celtic manager Neil Lennon said: "We are capable of winning the game and that's what we'd like to do - the pressure's really off. We'll try to restore some respectability in the tie. However, to qualify would take a minor miracle. Trying not to concede a goal after two or three minutes would help and get a foothold in the game. If we can create as many chances as we did at Celtic Park then we should have a great night."
0' THE MAN IN THE MIDDLE
Turkish referee Firat Aydinus will be hoping to have a more relaxed evening than his compatriot, Cuneyt Cakir, did at Old Trafford yesterday. Cakir controversially sent off Manchester United winger Nani as the Premier League side crashed out of the Champions League to Real Madrid. This will be Aydinus' third Champions League tie this season, during which he has handed out ten yellow cards and one red - to Valencia defender Adil Rami.
