Bangladesh 155-5 at tea vs Sri Lanka ICC Headlines
![]() (AP Photo/Eranga Jayawardena) COLOMBO, Sri Lanka (AP) Mominul Haque struck his second test half century Saturday but Bangladesh lost five wickets for 155 at tea on the opening day of the second test against Sri Lanka. Haque's unbeaten 63 followed his 55 in his debut innings in the first test earlier this week. Resuming from their lunch score of 62-2, the tourists lost three wickets in the session for 93 runs. Sri Lankan left-arm spinner Rangana Herath returned 2-28 as he had Mahmudullah (8) caught by captain Angelo Mathews and bowled Bangladesh captain Mushfiqur Rahim for seven. Rahim made his country's first test double-century in the first test. Jahurul Islam started a promising innings but was dismissed soon after lunch for 33 trying to chase a delivery from seamer Shaminda Eranga. Mominul's watchful innings included 95 deliveries and three boundaries. Nasir Hossain was batting with him on three. Seamers Nuwan Kulasekara and Eranga also picked up a wicket each for Sri Lanka. Both teams are chasing a win in the two-match test series after the first match ended in a high-scoring draw in Galle. The two teams strengthened their pace bowling attack at the expense of spin.
