That's eight goals scored and none conceded in Fulham's first two home league games. They maybe just edged it in the first half hour, before Dimitar Berbatov finished with ease following a Messi-esque dribble forward from Alex Kacaniklic. Peter Odemwingie kicked out unprovoked at Sascha Riether to earn himself a red card, and West Brom's problems were compounded by Billy Jones conceding a definite penalty that Berbatov tucked away late in the half. Fulham took the initiative in the second half as a double change at the break failed to energise the Baggies, although Ben Foster was in awesome form to deny Steven Sidwell, Damien Duff, Berbatov and Hugo Rodallega. A third goal did eventually come two minutes before the end of normal time, however, as Sidwell fired home on the rebound following a header off the crossbar from Rodagella. The Whites are back on track following three straight defeats, while West Brom's unbeaten start to the season comes to an end.

Fulham trudge off at half time with a two-goal lead, even though they haven't really had to get out of third gear for most of the first half. The first half hour saw plenty of stout defending from West Brom that meant Ben Foster was left with little to do, while James Morrison had the only dangerous-looking shot of that period that was tipped over by Mark Schwarzer. The deadlock was broken on 31 minutes with a clinical Dimitar Berbatov finish, and he was superbly set up by Alex Kacaniklic. It got even worse for the visitors when a moment of madness six minutes later saw Peter Odemwingie sent off for kicking out at Sascha Riether, before their misery was increased by Billy Jones conceding a clear penalty in the last minute of the half. Fulham man of the moment Berbatov dispatched it with ease from 12 yards, leaving the Baggies with a mountain to climb in the second half.

Pure class from DIMITAR BERBATOV on his full Fulham debut! Alex Kacaniklic does equally well with an excellent run into the box that precedes his pass to the Bulgarian, who takes a skilfull first touch before netting with a cool finish past Ben Foster.

Billy Jones has got forward on plenty of occasions from right-back, and John Arne Riise seems to intent on his own offensive ambitions to deal with him consistently. On this occasion Brede Hangeland is forced to mop up as Jones is allowed space to whip in from wide.

Rock solid defending once again. Gareth McAuley steals in ahead of Dimitar Berbatov to make an important clearance, then his central defensive partner Jonas Olsson deals brilliantly with a threatening low ball drilled in by Sascha Riether.

Roger East has to make a big decision here. Jonas Olsson slides in on Hugo Rodallega in the West Bromwich Albion box, and it's one of those ones that may well have been given had it have been anywhere else on the field. As it is, all appeals are waved away and play continues.

Roger East takes charge of only his second Premier League game today following a tough first assignment at the Liberty Stadium a fortnight ago. His red card shown to Jose Manuel Flores was justified even if it did incur some annoyance from Michael Laudrup, yet his inexperience was evident on some occasions in what was a testing game discipline-wise. 19 bookings and that one red card is East's total card tally in seven games in all competitions so far this season.

For Fulham, it is touch-and-go whether Bryan Ruiz will play a part due to a hamstring injury, while Kieron Richardson is definitely out. Recent signing Giorgos Karagounis could feature for the first time. West Brom's Steven Reid is doubtful with a hamstring injury and Jerome Thomas remains sidelined, but Romelu Lukaku should be back following a foot injury.

History smiles on Fulham in the fixture. West Brom haven't won at Craven Cottage since 1967, scoring only three goals in 13 games at Fulham in the time since then. The latter part of that time has seen the Cottagers win five of their last six against today's opponents on their home patch – a run which could have been six in six were it not for a late Somen Tchoyi equaliser here last time out.

Fulham host West Bromwich Albion at Craven Cottage this afternoon in what is, admittedly, one of the day's most low-key fixtures. Still, who said it won't be entertaining? We all know Fulham can turn on the style at home, as the Whites reminded us recently with a 5-0 thrashing of Norwich last time out at the Cottage. Style isn't something that is often lacking in Dimitar Berbatov's game – the Bulgarian being likely to make his first start Fulham today – even if pace and application usually is, and it'll be interesting to see if he can hit it off with Hugo Rodagella up front over the course of a full game. There were certainly flashes of a productive understanding between the pair in the second half at West Ham two weeks ago. Visitors West Brom meanwhile are up to the lofty position of third in the table following their home victories over the Merseyside clubs either side of a deserved point nabbed late on at White Hart Lane, in what has combined to be their best start to a top-flight season in over 30 years. Continuity is the name of the game for Steve Clark, and it's so far so good for the Baggies in these early stages in which just a single goal being conceded in the league suggests the organisation and discipline that Roy Hodgson instilled in the back line is being well maintained.
