90' FULHAM 1 - 2 MANCHESTER CITY
Edin Dzeko came off the bench to snatch a late winner for Manchester City at Craven Cottage. Fulham had started the game with a bang, dominating the game for the opening half hour and going into the lead through a slightly soft penalty - converted by Mladen Petric. However, City were in complete control of the game from the 30 minute mark, laying siege to the Fulham box, and goals late in both halves from Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko was enough to end a run of four games without a win for Roberto Mancini's side. Dzeko had only been on the pitch for 60 seconds when he turned in the box and hammered a shot past Mark Schwarzer, and that was enough to ensure that the game at Craven Cottage finished Fulham 1, Manchester City 2.

The fourth official reveals that there will be three minutes of time added on at the end of the game.
88' LITTLE TIME LEFT FOR FULHAM
That goal has come almost too late for Fulham to respond, and in truth they've offered very little since that barnstorming opening half hour.

A cross into the box wasn't dealt with by Fulham, with John Arne Riise and Brede Hangeland both failing to clear, and it fell kindly for Edin Dzeko to control and smash into the top corner on the turn. He'd only been on the pitch for 60 seconds!

Chris Baird has run himself into the ground in midfield today, and it's little surprise to see him replaced by Giorgos Karagounis.

Another Mario Balotelli shot slices wide, but it's clear that Man City are upping their game as full-time approaches. A point isn't really good enough for the defending champions considering their recent run of form.
75' ATTACKING CHANGE
Roberto Mancini's decision to bring on Samir Nasri for Gareth Barry is a clear indication of his intentions. City are going for the win, and the way the game's been going you wouldn't want to bet against them getting it.
73' RARE SIGHT OF GOAL FOR FULHAM
Hugo Rodallega and Alex Kacaniklic do superbly to create an attacking opportunity, and the winger's second cross falls to Bryan Ruiz on the edge of the area... only for Joe Hart to parry the playmaker's decent hit. There was a decent shout for a penalty in the midst of all that, with the ball hitting Pablo Zabaleta's arm as he went to block a Kacaniklic cross.
72' SILVA SNUFFED OUT
David Silva jinks his way into the Fulham box, but a crowd of five white shirts close him down, and the Spaniard's shot is blocked.
69' BALOTELLI FIRES WIDE
Mario Balotelli picks up the ball outside of the Fulham box and pops for goal, but his stinging drive can only find the crowd behind Mark Schwarzer's goal.
65' CHANGES FOR BOTH TEAMS
Mario Balotelli replaces Carlos Tevez up top for Man City, while the talented young Alex Kacaniklic comes on for the tireless Mladen Petric.
62' PRESSURE BUILDING
A couple of corners in quick succession cause panic in the Fulham defence, with Mark Schwarzer flapping at both of them. The Aussie keeper gets a bit lucky as his final spill doesn't fall to the feet of a City attacker, and Fulham live to fight another day.
61' SOLID DEFENDING AGAIN
City are turning the screw, but for now Fulham are holding on. David Silva's brilliance tees up Pablo Zabaleta for a cross, but John Arne Riise deflects it behind.
59' WIDE BY AGUERO
A slow period of the game is ended suddenly as Sergio Aguero gets his head to a Pablo Zabaleta cross and loops a header fractionally wide of the far post. Mark Schwarzer was getting nowhere near that!
54' REFEREE TAKING SOME STICK
The abuse aimed at referee Mark Halsey is much more acceptable than that sent to him over Twitter last week, but the official is still taking plenty of stick this afternoon. Just moments after Pablo Zabaleta goes down in the box looking for a penalty, Sergio Aguero picks up a soft free-kick. Both sets of fans are riled by those calls.
51' CREDIT TO FULHAM
Robbed of their most creative central players due to injury and the transfer window, Fulham looked like they may struggle this season. But on this evidence Martin Jol has got something good going, with plenty of goals in the team and an insistence on playing attacking football regardless of the standard of opposition.
48' DISAPPOINTED AT THE DECISION
A Bryan Ruiz free-kick is headed behind by Vincent Kompany... but a goal-kick is given. The players and fans let the officials know what they think about that!
46' SECOND HALF
The game is back underway at Craven Cottage, with neither team making changes. City have started the half brightly, showing much more intensity without the ball.
45' HALF-TIME
A Sergio Aguero equaliser just before the break cooled Roberto Mancini's bubbling temper after a penalty decision that had threatened to send Man City in a goal down at the break at Craven Cottage. Pablo Zabaleta seemed to only lightly catch John Arne Riise as the full-back burst past him into the box, but the penalty was given, and Mladen Petric duly dispatched it to give Fulham an early lead. For all that City moaned about the decision, it didn't disguise the fact that Fulham were the better side for the opening half hour, causing all sorts of problems with their fluid attacking unit of Bryan Ruiz, Hugo Rodallega and Petric. City gradually started to assert their quality on proceedings, but it took until just three minutes before the break for them to carve out a golden chance - which Aguero duly took. Mancini will expect a lot more from his team in the second half, but at half-time at Craven Cottage it's Fulham 1, Manchester City 1.
42' MORE ON THAT GOAL!
A deflection and attempted shot by David Silva saw the ball fly towards the Fulham goal, forcing Mark Schwarzer to parry the ball away with a smart reaction save. However, Sergio Aguero was sharpest to react, and had the simplest of finishes to draw City level heading towards the interval.

39' IS THAT A GOAL?
A loose ball clips off a Fulham defender and trickles agonisingly onto the line. A combination of the centre-backs and Mark Schwarzer descend on the ball, and the officials decide that it didn't cross the line. The decision is probably correct, but even replays aren't clear.
37' RUIZ FIRES WIDE
Hugo Rodallega's free-kick is blocked, but the ball spins out into the path of Bryan Ruiz, whose firmly hit effort crashes into the side netting.

Vincent Kompany dives in to a challenge, but Mladen Petric gets to the ball first and Fulham have a free-kick just outside of the area. Kompany picks up a booking for the challenge.

The Fulham fans are thoroughly enjoying this disjointed display by the champions, with the misfiring centre-forwards a particular source of amusement.

Carlos Tevez goes down in the box under pressure from John Arne Riise, but the referee was having none of it. The decision is probably the right one, but if Fulham's was a penalty...
28' AGUERO CAN'T HIT THE TARGET!
Sergio Aguero peels into space at the back stick and is handed a chance when the ball is flicked into his path. However, the Argentine can't even hit the target - finding only the side netting with his weak header.

John Arne Riise looks to release the kraken... but Joe Hart gets down smartly to save his long-range free-kick drive.
24' DECENT DEFENDING
David Silva and Gael Clichy are at the centre of the build-up as City work a chance, but Carlos Tevez isn't given any space in the box and Fulham manage to hack the ball away. That was more like it from City, but Fulham stood firm.
22' LACK OF SPARK
Reasonably solid through the middle, City just haven't been able to get their big attacking players into the game, and it's hurting them. You know that this sort of XI only needs a hint of a chance to turn the game around, but there's no sign of it coming just yet.
18' WIDTH AND PACE
With Hugo Rodallega and Bryan Ruiz linking up well down the left, the full-backs getting forward and Mladen Petric working the channels, City's lack of width is getting badly exposed by Fulham. The Cottagers fail to make a chance on this occasion as John Arne Riise's cross is cut out by Vincent Kompany, but the signs are extremely encouraging for Martin Jol's team.

The attacking trio of Hugo Rodallega, Mladen Petric and Bryan Ruiz are tearing City's defence apart, but on this occasion the Croatian international can't keep his shot down after being teed up by Rodallega.

Mladen Petric sends Joe Hart the wrong way and it's 1-0 Fulham. Roberto Mancini shakes his head in disbelief at the decision, and if his team don't go on to win this game then you'd imagine he'll have one or two things to say in his post-match press conference. That being said, it wasn't a howler by the official by any means.
10' PENALTY!!!
A lovely cross-field ball picks out John Arne Riise. He cuts inside Pablo Zabaleta but is brought down and the referee points to the spot. It's soft and may not have even been in the area, but the Craven Cottage crowd don't care.
7' SOLID START BY FULHAM
It's been far from one-sided in the opening stages, with Fulham really putting themselves about in central areas to knock City off their stride.
3' ANOTHER POOR CHALLENGE
This time it's Javi Garcia who is penalised by the referee, and Mark Halsey has a chat with the City midfielder.
2' EARLY THREAT FROM CITY
Sergio Aguero and David Silva combine with beautiful skill to work a chance in the area, but Fulham deal with the cut-back and clear. A sloppy challenge by Matija Nastasic on Mladen Petric allows the white shirted defenders to clear out of the area, but that's an early warning for the home side.

It's a very strong Manchester City line-up - unsurprisingly given how much Roberto Mancini's side need a win today. Matija Nastasic continues at the heart of defence, while Javi Garcia also features - presumably to give Yaya Toure and David Silva more freedom to get forward and support the front two.

So devoid of options in midfield, Martin Jol has thrown caution to the wind and gone all-out attack against the Premier League champions. Bryan Ruiz and Damian Duff will provide the attacking thrust from midfield, with Mladen Petric coming back into the side to partner Hugo Rodallega up top in the absence of Dimitar Berbatov. That's a seriously athletic front pairing!
0' JOL'S NEW-LOOK FULHAM
The Cottagers finished a handy ninth last season after a season sparked by the excellent performances of Moussa Dembele and Clint Dempsey – both of whom now play their football in a different white shirt. However, in Bryan Ruiz and Hugo Rodallega, Martin Jol has two attacking players who can hurt City… it's just a shame that summer signing Dimitar Berbatov is almost certain to miss out with a thigh injury. An 8-0 aggregate score at home this season is a good enough indicator of the sort of challenge that awaits City this afternoon. They better be ready.
0' FULHAM V MAN CITY
‘We will win the title', said Roberto Mancini this week, but a run of four games without a win isn't the form of potential champions. Manchester City were knocked out of the League Cup by Aston Villa, lost in the Champions League at Real Madrid and drew with Arsenal and Stoke in the league… not to mention the draw with Liverpool and highly unconvincing win over Southampton that kicked off the season. When you're in poor form, one of the last places you want to go is Craven Cottage – where Fulham have yet to concede this season and have won ten of their last 13. However, this is Manchester City, and you wouldn't back against them pulling a result out of the bag to make a statement of intent to their title rivals.
