90' FULL-TIME
What a result for West Brom, they've beaten the reigning European Champions! It was a solid team performance from the Baggies with stand-out performances from Boaz Myhill and Shane Long which has catapulted them into fourth place in the Premier League. It was a game of three headed goals and Peter Odemwingie's in the 49th turned out to be the winner. Roberto Di Matteo was unable to beat his former employers and his side's poor run of form in the league carries on despite good performances from Eden Hazard and Victor Moses. The game was turned on its head when Juan Mata was introduced but Chelsea were unable to capitalise on the chances he created. They'll need to improve if they're to get a result in their game against Juventus in midweek.
90' STOPPAGE TIME
West Brom have to survive four minutes of added time if they're to hold on to all three points here. Markus Rosenberg even manages to get a shot away after a good spell of Baggies possession but it's easily saved by Petr Cech.
89' BRILLIANT SKILL
Yet another cross comes in from Eden Hazard on the left and Oscar brilliantly plays the ball to Daniel Sturridge with an almost unbelievable mid-air back-heel. Sturridge's shot is dragged agonisingly wide however.

Juan Mata looks to create a chance with a cross from deep. It's headed clear by Gabriel Tamas but only as far as Eden Hazard. After a touch to control the ball he can only hit his shot straight at Boaz Myhill.

Shane Long has been magnificent today but he's run out of energy and mistakes have been creeping into his game in the last five minutes, so he's been brought off to be replaced by Markus Rosenberg.

Boaz Myhill makes a great right-handed stop after Daniel Sturridge slips through the West Brom defence and ends up one-on-one. The former Hull City goalkeeper hasn't put a foot wrong today.

Chelsea are attempting to force West Brom back into their own half but the Baggies are resisting gladiatorially. They manage a break through Graham Dorrans but he's bullied off the ball by Gary Cahill.

70' CHANCES FOR BOTH TEAMS
This game has come alive since the introduction of Juan Mata. Chelsea are looking dangerous down both wings and Mata forces another save from Boaz Myhill. West Brom however aren't simply sitting back and defending, though, as Claudio Yacob comes close with a stinging shot from range which Petr Cech has to parry.

Juan Mata plays a looped pass to Daniel Sturridge in front of goal but he can't make meaningful contact with the ball. It still requires a save though as Boaz Myhill is forced to scoop the ball around the post.

Oscar comes on to replace Oriol Romeu and Fernando Torres is hauled off by Di Matteo after a very below-par performance to be replaced by Juan Mata.
58' CAHILL AND LONG BATTLE
Gary Cahill vs Shane Long has been an interesting individual battle in this game. The two exchange some heated words after a strong tackle by Cahill on the edge of the box. The resulting free-kick is struck straight at the wall by Zoltan Gera.
54' COURAGEOUS MYHILL
An Eden Hazard corner flies past everyone in the box to Victor Moses at the back post. Moses can't keep it under control though and Boaz Myhill throws himself onto the ball to make the save.

Yet another headed goal! After some wonderful passing play, Shane Long crosses from the right to Peter Odemwingie who gets away from Ryan Bertrand at the near post to put a downward header past Petr Cech.

Victor Moses ghosts through the West Brom defence and into the box. He plays the ball to Daniel Sturridge who hits a vicious shot at goal which is straight at Boaz Myhill. If he'd have put it either side then Chelsea would probably be celebrating a goal.

We're back underway for the second half. Both teams are unchanged after the break.
45' HALF-TIME
It's been an exciting half at the Hawthorns and West Brom have arguably had the better of it. Shane Long has been excellent in attack for the Baggies whereas Fernando Torres has seemed more interested in his hair than the game for the Blues. Chelsea can be hopeful however; since switching Eden Hazard to the left-wing Di Matteo's side have looked a lot more dangerous.

Gary Cahill lays the ball back to Victor Moses after an Eden Hazard corner. Moses has a clear sight at goal but slices his shot way over the bar.
39' MORE ON THAT GOAL
Cesar Azpilicueta floats in a cross from the right-hand side which finds the head of Eden Hazard at the far post. His placed header deflects off Billy Jones and past Boaz Myhill. It appears that Roberto Di Matteo has switched Eden Hazard to the left-wing and it's paid immediate dividends.

Chelsea try to settle the game down by keeping hold of possession. They manage to work the ball down the right wing with Victor Moses but his cross finds nobody in the box.
35' LONG CHANCE
Shane Long collects a long James Morrison pass and turns Gary Cahill easily. Long then storms towards goal and hits a powerful shot just wide.
33' STURRIDGE VOLLEY
Daniel Sturridge hits a loose ball on the volley from outside of the box but it's right down Boaz Myhill's throat and he's able to catch it easily. That's Chelsea's first serious effort on goal.
29' WEST BROM APPLYING THE PRESSURE
The Baggies have looked deserving of all three points in the opening half hour. They're keeping possession well in the Chelsea half and have had the majority of the chances. Chelsea on the other hand have looked sluggish and are yet to seriously challenge Boaz Myhill in the West Brom goal.
25' GOOD PASSING PLAY
After some great skill from Zoltan Gera, Billy Jones slides a beautiful through ball into Shane Long on the right in the space left by Ryan Bertrand who had drifted forward. Long can't get his cross past the first defender unfortunately.

Youssouf Mulumbu makes a great run down the right wing but hits a wall when he encounters Ryan Bertrand who makes a good strong tackle to come away with the ball.
18' LONG RANGE EFFORTS
Chelsea have been restricted to shooting from range in the last few minutes. First Daniel Sturridge, then Victor Moses try shots from 25 yards which sail aimlessly wide.
14' MISSED CROSS
Victor Moses finds himself in acres of space down the left and looks up to pick out a team-mate in the box. Unfortunately, he doesn't look back down at the ball and misses it completely, much to the delight of the West Brom fans.

A lovely floated cross from the left by James Morrison is met by Shane Long six yards out. Long manages to get free of his marker David Luiz to power the ball into the top corner.

Gary Cahill receives a pass in the West Brom box from the left wing from Victor Moses. He tries to place it and manages to beat Boaz Myhill but Liam Ridgewell clears it off the line. The ball falls to Eden Hazard who strikes it goalwards but the shot is blocked by Jonas Olsson and Chelsea claim for handball but the referee waves play on.

Youssouf Mulumbu comes in from the right wing and plays a pass to Shane Long's feet just outside the Chelsea box. He's tackled by Gary Cahill just before he can turn and shoot.

David Luiz takes a speculative shot from range which goes well wide of the target. His fellow team-mates aren't happy with him.

Chelsea captain John Terry misses out with a knee injury while Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole are both unlikely to feature. David Luiz and Oscar will both be subject to late fitness tests after playing in Brazil's 1-1 draw with Columbia in mid-week. October's player of the month Juan Mata looks likely to start at the heart of an attacking midfield including Oscar and Eden Hazard.

Roberto Di Matteo will be hoping to defeat his old employers and in turn get Chelsea back to winning ways after taking only two points from their last three games in the league. Having started the season so brightly they appear to have lost some form as of late and they'll want to win here to get back on track. Di Matteo will be looking to his young, creative midfield players like Eden Hazard to provide service for Fernando Torres who still has a lot of work to do if he's to start living up to his £50 million price-tag.
0' WEST BROM HOPING TO CONTINUE DREAM START
West Brom currently occupy fifth place in the Premier League. They've only dropped points at home to Manchester City this season and they even thrashed Liverpool 3-0 on opening day. A win against Chelsea today would bring them within one point of the European Champions and announce them as serious contenders for a Europa League spot. With Romelu Lukaku ineligible to play against his parent club, the Baggies will be hoping that Shane Long can add to his three goals so far to help them towards victory.

Chelsea are unbeaten away from home so far in this campaign but they come up against a West Brom team enjoying their best start to a Premier League season ever; their home form is particularly impressive with five wins from six games. The Baggies must face up against their ex-manager in Roberto Di Matteo which adds extra spice to this already exciting fixture, one which West Brom won last season thanks to a solitary Gareth McAuley goal. History favours the Blues however; they've won 12 of the last 13 meetings between these teams.
