90' NORWICH 2, WIGAN 1.
Wigan found themselves 1-0 down at half time, but they came out all guns blazing and Shaun Maloney managed to fire the visitors level. From there, it looked like the Latics would go on to win for the first time at Carrow Road, but Wesley Hoolahan put a stop to those plans with a headed effort. Despite an injury time chance for Arouna Kone, Norwich held on for the three points. Worse still - Adrian Lopez was taken off late on with a pulled hamstring, which isn't good for an already depleted squad for Wigan.
90' LAST CHANCE
There's one last chance for Arouna Kone, but he skews it wide from a tight angle. The final whistle sounds as Norwich continue their great run of form in the Premier League.
90' AL HABSI UP
Ali Al Habsi runs the length of the pitch for a last minute corner. Emmerson Boyce gets a header in, and the ball never seems to be cleared, but the chance is spurned as Kone is caught offside.

We are in the second of three added minutes, and Arouna Kone fires in, only to see his shot blocked. What a chance, but what a block from Sebastien Bassong!

Robert Snodgrass has time and space following a neat combination with Jonathan Howson, but his shot goes wide. Grant Holt leaves the field and Steve Morison replaces him.

The ball cannons around the Wigan area and the visitors eventually emerge with the ball, and a counter-attack is on. They get the ball forward well but the final ball from Ronnie Stam isn't good enough.

Wesley Hoolahan - a man of the match contender - surprisingly departs, with Jonathan Howson his replacement.

Wigan Athletic almost score against the run of play as David Jones' corner is turned behind for a second by Sebastien Bassong. The Norwich fans' hearts were in their mouths for a second then as Bassong's deflection almost ended up in his own net. The second corner doesn't cause any problems.
80' NOT LOOKING GOOD FOR LATICS
Wigan Athletic aren't offering enough to convince a neutral that an equaliser is coming, as Norwich City look likely to add to their lead. Michael Turner heads a Robert Snodgrass corner behind.

Ali Al Habsi has really silenced the doubters this afternoon. He has kept his side in the tie time and time again. This time the Wigan keeper stops a well-struck effort from Anthony Pilkington.

Franco Di Santo comes on for Wigan. Roberto Martinez's last two subs did the trick, so perhaps Di Santo can bring some energy into a deflated Wigan side. Mauro Boselli has departed.

Wesley Hoolahan outsmarts the defence on the right wing again, and feeds it in to Bradley Johnson, who takes a touch before forcing Ali Al Habsi to tip the ball around the post for a fruitless corner.
69' RELEASE OF TENSION
That goal has really taken the sting out of Wigan's play, as the Latics were in the ascendency. The home crowd are certainly less on edge now, and Norwich are happy to control possession.
66' MORE ON THAT GOAL
We said Wigan couldn't afford to switch off, but credit has to be given to Norwich, who have crafted a really good goal to retake the lead. It all started with a foul throw from Jean Beausejour, and from there Norwich worked the ball into the area. Emmerson Boyce managed to clear, but Anthony Pilkington put the ball back in and WESLEY HOOLAHAN headed home.

With all the dominance that Wigan have now, they can't afford to switch off at the back. A momentary lapse in concentration allows Robert Snodgrass to cross and Grant Holt volleys over at the back post.

There are absolutely no parallels that can be drawn between the first half and the second. Wigan are now in complete control - those substitutions have made the difference. David Jones has been winning everything in midfield and Shaun Maloney has looked a real threat.

Wigan Athletic look like a different team - Roberto Martinez's words of wisdom obviously worked wonder and the equaliser has only increased their confidence. They are much more dominant in midfield now. Meanwhile, Sebastien Bassong has been booked for Norwich. The home crowd are really starting to get on the referee's back now, although they can't really complain about that last decision.

Well, perhaps SHAUN MALONEY gets the last laugh. After the jeers following his terrible free kick, he plays a one-two with Arouna Kone, who held the ball up magnificently, and strikes the ball perfectly past Mark Bunn. Game on.

Jean Beausejour goes down around 25 yards from goal, and the referee eventually succumbs to a long-lasting appeal from the Wigan winger. The anger of the crowd increases, but they get the last laugh as Shaun Maloney skies the free kick.
48' AL HABSI SAVE
Grant Holt latches on to a long ball and strikes it from a tight angle. Ali Al Habsi manages to palm it away for a corner, which the Omani international deals with equally well.
46' KICK OFF
Norwich City get the second half underway. A double change at the break for Wigan in an attempt to turn this game on its head. David Jones and Shaun Maloney are on in place of James McCarthy and Jordi Gomez.
45' FIRST HALF SUMMARY
Roberto Martinez has a lot of work to do at the break, as Norwich have outshone the visitors in almost every aspect so far this afternoon. Anthony Pilkington put the home side ahead, and could have had a second later on. Wigan have struggled to create anything worthy of note, other than an on-target shot from James McCarthy. Ali Al Habsi has kept his side's hopes alive with a couple of great saves, but a complete turnaround will have to be witnessed if Wigan are to come out on top come the 90 minute mark.
45' HALF TIME
The referee calls time on a one-sided affair at Carrow Road - the only surprise being that the deficit remains at one goal.
45' SLOW END TO THE HALF
Wigan Athletic construct a half-hearted move, which ends up at the feet of James McCarthy, whose shot is blocked. The visitors don't want to commit too many players as I'm sure they'll count themselves lucky to still be in with a shout at Carrow Road.
43' BOSELLI HEADER
Wigan put a nice attack together, with a long series of uninterrupted passes. Ronnie Stam delivers from the right but Mauro Boselli doesn't get enough on the header and Mark Bunn catches with ease.
40' HALF A CHANCE
A momentary break in Norwich attacks affords Maynor Figueroa a sight at goal, but it is blocked. Norwich City are straight back at them but the attack breaks down as Grant Holt's cross is cleared.
37' INCREDIBLE SAVE!
Ali Al Habsi keeps Wigan in the game once again with an incredible reflex save. Javier Garrido crosses it and Robert Snodgrass tries to guide the ball back across goal into the corner. He does everything right but Al Habsi somehow manages to keep it out.

The defence of Wigan Athletic is pretty much redundant at the moment, as Steven Whittaker strolls through without challenge. Whittaker has time to steady himself, before drilling it narrowly wide.
33' GREAT CHANCE FOR NORWICH!
Robert Snodgrass crosses the ball in with Anthony Pilkington poised at the back post. There are no Wigan defenders in sight but Ali Al Habsi does just enough to put Pilkington off.

Arouna Kone finds a gap in the defence and Mauro Boselli beats the sole remaining defender, but the flag is already up against the Argentine.
29' NORWICH ANGERED
The ire of the crows seems to be channelling through to the players, who come forward in a surge of determination. Anthony Pilkington and Robert Snodgrass both pull the trigger but neither hits the target.
27' PILKINGTON BOOKED
Anthony Pilkington is felled in the area by Adrian Lopez and the ref blows his whistle immediately. The home crowd think a penalty is on the cards but instead, Pilkington is booked for simulation. On second viewing, it seems that contact was definitely made and the fans have a right to be angry there.
24' MCCARTHY BACK ON
Following a couple of minutes of treatment, James McCarthy's reintroduction is met by a chorus of boos. Nevertheless, he makes an immediate impact as he calls Mark Bunn into action with a well-struck left-footer following a one-two with Arouna Kone. Robert Snodgrass drives one towards goal at the other end but Ali Al Habsi is equal to it.
21' YELLOW CARD
Bradley Johnson receives a yellow card after a shove on James McCarthy. It seems to be a push after some words were exchanged, and Johnson is rightly cautioned. McCarthy seems to be hurt following that - perhaps he twisted his ankle on the way down - and he is receiving some treatment.
18' NORWICH COMING FORWARD AGAIN
Wigan Athletic have to be careful not to let Norwich double their lead. A blocked shot from Steven Whittaker forces a couple of poor corners, but Norwich are in complete control at the moment.
15' MORE ON THAT GOAL
A poor goal to concede from Wigan's point of view, but it all stems from Hoolahan's determination. He wins the ball in midfield and squeezes it through the defence to ANTHONY PILKINGTON, who beats Ali Al Habsi with his left foot. Perhaps the keeper could have done more, but the defence are probably more to blame.

Anthony Pilkington puts Norwich ahead!
11' WIGAN BOUNCE BACK
Norwich City dominated the opening 10 minutes, but Wigan show that they are no pushovers with a promising counter-attack, which culminates in Ronnie Stam winning a corner, which proves rather dangerous. Jean Beausejour takes it and Jordi Gomez almost gets the decisive touch; the ball goes out to James McArthur, who tees up Gomez, but the Spaniard can't find the target.
8' OTHER FLANK
We were talking about Hoolahan on the right, but this time Anthony Pilkington looks to cause problems on the left. He has clear space ahead of him and tries to break into that area but Emmerson Boyce defies the odds and beats Pilkington for pace. Moments later Alexander Tettey tries his luck but doesn't test Ali Al Habsi.
5' KEY PLAYER
Wesley Hoolahan scored in both games against Wigan last year, and he's looking a slight threat already for the hosts. He brings such an energy to the game and endeavours to win the ball in wide areas, which is where many of Norwich's goals have come from this season.
2' CLASH OF STYLES
The opening few minutes have highlighted the difference in the ethos of these two sides; Norwich City are playing long balls, trying to catch the slightly weakened Wigan defence out, while the Latics are more interested in intricate passing. Neither tactic has proved successful so far.

Wesley Hoolahan, the scorer in both ties with the Latics last season, is doubtful with a groin injury. Chris Hughton will also be concerned about Alex Tettey, who is struggling with a thigh strain, and Steven Whittaker also faces a late fitness test.

Norwich, on their longest unbeaten run in the top flight since the 1989-90 season, have never lost to Wigan at home. In fact, today's visitors have only beaten the Canaries once in seven previous meetings, their lone victory in a 1987 FA Cup tie. Last time out, this ended in a 1-1 stalemate, with Victor Moses cancelling out Wesley Hoolahan's goal. The reverse fixture ended in the same way, with Hoolahan on the scoresheet again.

Today's hosts Norwich are unbeaten in nine league games, and have dethroned Manchester United and Arsenal in the process, but a midweek loss in the Capital One Cup against Villa threatens to disrupt Chris Hughton's smooth operation. Next up: Wigan; the Latics are on a bad run of form, losing four of the last six, meaning that each point can have a bearing on the relegation struggle, of which Wigan are on the losing end of a three-way battle for safety, behind Aston Villa and Southampton only on goal difference.
