Minute Commentary
90' FULL TIME
Both David Moyes and Tony Pulis will feel they could have grabbed the three points this afternoon, but will be content with a point in a feisty encounter. Everton started strongly and took the lead when Pienaar's free kick was headed into his own net by Ryan Shawcross. Stoke responded in the second half and Kenwyne Jones was on hand to bury a powerful effort past Tim Howard. Both sides looked to find a winning goal, but resolute defending meant the spoils were shared. The main talking point will be Marouane Fellaini's headbutt, which went unoticed by the referee but will no doubt have been picked up on camera. Everton maintain their hold on fourth place, whilst the hosts continue to stay in the top half of the table.

Almost a winner for Everton at the end, as Steven Pienaar drives a shot in from range that flies just wide of the Stoke goal. Begovic takes the goal kick and the final whistle goes, with both sides having to settle for a point. It's Stoke 1-1 Everton.

Everton appear content to play for a point, as Stoke continue to press. Michael Kightly swings in a free kick that beats Tim Howard, but also beats the post and goes out of play.

Final throw of the dice from Tony Pulis. Michael Kightly replaces Matthew Etherington for the closing stages, as the hosts continue to look the most likely to find a winner.

Stoke are pushing for the winning goal. Jerome brings the ball forward and sees his shot blocked by Tim Howard. The rebound falls into the path of Peter Crouch, who sees a chipped effort also saved by the Everton goalkeeper.

Marouane Fellaini has been Everton's best player this season, but he is bound to be in big trouble after the game is finished. The midfielder is tussling with Shawcross in the penalty area, before appearing to headbutt the defender. The Stoke players are livid, but the referee has missed it and doesn't take any action. Tony Pulis is furious.

The visitors can't get a foothold in the second half and Stoke continue to up the tempo. Glenn Whelan crosses into the path of Jones again and his low shot ends up going wide of goal.

Stoke equalise and the home fans are delighted. KENWYNE JONES is played in by Etherington and the striker has time and space to place his header in the corner of the net. Tony Pulis team have started the second half brightly and they will feel the goal is richly deserved. It's Stoke 1-1 Everton.

The hosts are immediately pressing for an equaliser. Glenn Whelan crosses into the box and the advancing Robert Huth hits a shot off target. Promising signs for Tony Pulis, as he urges his side forward.

The game is back underway, with Stoke looking to prevent their unbeaten home record from coming to an end.

Mark Halsey blows his whistle and it's half time. Stoke started the brighter, but the visitors grew in confidence and grabbed the opening goal through a Shawcross own goal. Two minutes of added time announced by the fourth official, as Everton look to keep their lead until the break.

The hosts have been rattled since conceding the opening goal and Everton are comfortable on the ball. David Moyes will be delighted, but knows that Stoke have yet to lose at home this season and will still feel they can recover.

The visitors almost grab a second. Leighton Baines crosses straight into the path of Leon Osman, but his low driven shot somehow goes wide of the target with Begovic beaten.

Everton take the lead through an own goal from RYAN SHAWCROSS. Steven Pienaar plays the ball into the penalty area, and the defender can only head the ball past Asmir Begovic into his own net. It's a gift for the visitors and it's Stoke 0-1 Everton.
35' LIFTING THE TEMPO
Both sides are creating chances now. Matthew Etherington's dangerous cross is parried away by Howard, but only into the path of Cameron, who sees his cross cut out by Distin.
33' EVERTON CHANCE
A chance for the visitors. Steven Naismith's shot is parried behind for a corner, before Baines again passes it into the path of Naismith, whose header is wide of goal.
29' STOKE CHANCE
Big chance for Stoke. Charlie Adam is brought down by Leon Osman for a free kick. Whelan's cross is knocked behind for a corner. Walters then has the ball and his cross finds Steven Nzonzi, who's header is straight into the arms of Tim Howard.
26' QUIET
The visitors have withstood the initial Stoke pressure, but are now struggling to keep the ball in the hosts' half. A Tim Howard long ball is headed away by Huth and the visitors are forced to try again.

Both sides are looking strong defensively in the early stages and neither side can get their main strikers into the game. A cross by Jonathan Walters is cleared by Phil Jagielka with a powerful header and Stoke have a corner. Etherington plays it short to Wilkinson, who finds Jones but the striker's shot again is wide of goal.

Stoke continue to create chances. Andy Wilkinson finds Kenwyne Jones with a cross, but the striker drives his shot high and wide to groans from the home crowd.
16' STOKE CHANCE
The hosts almost break the deadlock. Matthew Etherington has space to shoot on the edge of the penalty area, but his driven shot drifts wide of goal to the relief of the Everton defence.

The visitors have settled and are looking dangerous going forward. A Baines cross is blocked for a corner. The England international whips another cross in, but the hosts are able to clear through Robert Huth.

Tony Pulis will be once again relying on Peter Crouch to provide the main attacking threat to the visitors. The England international has four goals in the league, but knows he needs to improve further to catch the eye of current England boss Roy Hodgson. Everton had Nikica Jelavic to thank for his goal that secured three points against Everton, and the striker will have to be at his absolute best to get any joy from Shawcross and Huth in the Stoke defence.

Everton have made a positive habit of picking up points from losing positions this season, with 14 being a figure only the two Manchester clubs can better. Their last gasp win against Tottenham showed the desire and will to win amongst the Everton players, and David Moyes will need his side to show that again this afternoon.

No side has conceded less goals than Stoke City this season, and a sluggish opening to the season has been morphed into a six game unbeaten run, which has seen the hosts climb into the top half of the table. Not losing today would see Stoke equal their longest unbeaten run in the Premier League since promotion in 2008.

Mark Halsey takes charge of what should be a fiery encounter today. His last game at the Britannia Stadium resulted in a dour goaless draw between Stoke and Sunderland. The hosts will be looking for a better performance today.
