Fulham vs. Southampton
Minute Commentary
90' FT: FULHAM 0 SOUTHAMPTON 3
Southampton record their first win at Craven Cottage in 66 years as three goals in six second-half minutes give them a magnificent victory. Mauricio Pochettino's men didn't have it their own way, however, Artur Boruc being called upon to make three outstanding saves in the first half to keep the visitors level. But they pulled away after the break with clinical finishing proving to be the difference between the two sides. Excellent strikes from Adam Lallana (64 mins) and Rickie Lambert (70) put the visitors in control, but Jay Rodriguez topped them both with a wonderful curling finish 15 minutes from time. Saints look upwardly mobile again on the signs of this display while Fulham need their new signings to gel quickly or they could find themselves cut adrift at the bottom.
90' LAMBERT'S MILESTONE
That goal from Lambert earlier was his 100th in the league for the club. We have entered three minutes of stoppage time.
87' SOUTHAMPTON SUBSTITUTION
Jay Rodriguez gets a great reception from the away fans as he makes way for Sam Gallagher.
86' PROBLEMS AT BOTH ENDS
They may not be the most prolific in front of goal, but it's also worth remembering Fulham have let in 29 goals in 11 league games under Rene Meulensteen.
83' FULHAM SUBSTITUTION
Muamer Tankovic replaces William Kvist for Fulham.
80' CLOUDS ON THE HORIZON
It's Manchester United away for Fulham next weekend, as Rene Meulensteen returns to Old Trafford. Then it's a visit from Liverpool. How Fulham needed a win today.
76' GOAL DETAILS
What a goal from the visitors. Lambert started the move on the edge of his own area and fed Rodriguez, who did the rest, cutting in past his marker and curling a magnificent shot past the despairing goalkeeper.
75' GOAL: FULHAM 0 SOUTHAMPTON 3
Jay Rodriguez scores a wonder goal for Southampton. Game over.
74' FULHAM SUBSTITUTION
Fulham make another change with Pajtim Kasami replacing Scott Parker.
71' GOAL DETAILS
It's another quality goal from the visitors. Clyne got away down the right and whipped in a cross. Rodriguez dummied and Lambert, right behind him, smashed a shot past Stekelenburg.
70' GOAL: FULHAM 0 SOUTHAMPTON 2
Rickie Lambert nets a second for Southampton.
69' PILING ON THE PRESSURE
Rodriguez slides in to meet a low ball from the right but his effort goes wide of the goal.
66' CLOSE TO A SECOND
It's almost a second for Saints as Davis gets on the end of a Lambert header and sees his goalbound shot blocked.
65' FULHAM SUBSTITUTION
Fulham react to falling behind by making a change. It's Clint Dempsey for Duff.
64' GOAL DETAILS
It's a cracking goal from the visitors. Lallana collected the ball from Lambert in the inside-left channel and cut in past Hangeland before driving a low shot into the corner.
63' GOAL: FULHAM 0 SOUTHAMPTON 1
Adam Lallana gives Southampton the lead.
61' REASONS TO BE CHEERFUL
Having just said Fulham are currently bottom of the pile, this hasn't looked like the performance of a struggling side today. There is plenty of reason for Rene Meulensteen to be optimistic.
59' COMFORTABLE SAVE
Lallana tries a snap-shot from 25 yards. He hit that well, but Stekelenburg made the save look easy.
57' SOUTHAMPTON SUBSTITUTION
Southampton are forced into a switch, with Nathaniel Clyne replacing the injured Calum Chambers.
54' BOTTOM OF THE PILE
Cardiff have scored twice in two minutes against Norwich, which means Fulham are now bottom of the live Premier League table.
52' OVERHEAD KICK
Schneiderlin does well to manufacture an attempt at goal, but with his back to the target he tries an overhead kick that is not too far wide.
50' WIDE OF THE MARK
Shaw does superbly to beat Kvist down the outside and his centre eventually falls to Rodriguez, who stabs a shot well wide.
49' A GOOD MOVE
That switch from Saints came as no surprise. Wanyama looked very rusty on his return after that lengthy lay-off and had also been booked.
47' SOUTHAMPTON SUBSTITUTION
Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino has made a change at the break, replacing Wanyama with Jack Cork.
46' HERE WE GO AGAIN
Southampton start the second half, attacking the goal to our right.
45' HT: FULHAM 0 SOUTHAMPTON 0
It's goalless at the break. Southampton have enjoyed more of the possession, but Fulham have looked the likelier to break the deadlock. Saints have been indebted to goalkeeper Artur Boruc who denied Brede Hangeland in the early going and then made a magnificent double-save to deny Darren Bent.
45' JAY WAY WIDE
It's just not happening for Rodriguez today. He mistimes his jump at the far post and heads tamely wide. That was actually a good chance. The Saints striker then just fails to get on the end of a cross from Lallana.
41' FINAL WARNING
Duff is given a final warning after a foul on Lallana. Next time he is in the book.
40' FINISH LACKING
Lambert delivers an excellent cross from the right. Rodriguez gets across Hangeland but cannot apply the finishing touch.
38' SOUTHAMPTON BOOKING
Schneiderlin is the third Southampton man in the book for a foul on Holtby.
37' DOUBLE SAVE
Boruc makes an outstanding save low to his left to keep out Bent's volley after Parker's flick and as Fulham attack again the Saints stopper repels a right-footed strike from Bent.
34' YOSHIDA HURT
Yoshida is down with a head injury and needs treatment. The referee stops play.
31' LACKING A THREAT
Yoshida sees a tame header drift harmlessly wide of the post. Southampton are seeing a lot of the ball, but their play lacks a cutting edge at the moment.
29' STATS CAN BE DECEIVING
Just how important is Wanyama to Southampton? With him in their side they have played 14, won six, drawn four and lost four. Without him they have played 14, won six, drawn four and lost four. Answer to the original question: not very!
27' SOUTHAMPTON BOOKING
Parker knocks the ball past Wanyama and is caught by the Saints powerhouse, who joins Rodriguez in the referee's notebook.
24' EXCELLENT SAVE
From the resulting corner, a back-header from Hangeland forces Boruc into an outstanding save.
22' HEADER BLOCKED
Rodriguez plays a low ball into the box that was just behind Lallana and just in front of Shaw. Play swings down the other end and Bent sees his header hit a Southampton defender and go out for a corner.
20' DRIVE GOES WIDE
Chambers gets the better of Duff in a challenge and tries his luck from distance. The effort is a couple of yards wide of the post.
18' SOUTHAMPTON BOOKING
Schneiderlin gives the ball away and in trying to win it back for the visitors, Rodriguez commits a foul which results in him collecting the first yellow card of the game.
16' DANGEROUS CROSS
Riether makes good progress down the right and whips in a good-looking cross. Unfortunately for the German, there is nobody there in the centre to get on the end of it.
15' MORGAN FLUFFS HIS SHOT
A corner from Davis is allowed to bounce inside the area, but Schneiderlin gets his shot all wrong and it spins out for a goal-kick.
12' ONE-WAY PLAYER
Lewis Holtby certainly wouldn't find favour at Chelsea. He has not tracked back once yet, just the sort of thing that cost Juan Mata his place at Stamford Bridge.
9' STEKELENBURG IN ACTION
Fulham have a scare from a Southampton cross and Maarten Stekelenburg has to make an awkward save after the ball comes off one of his own defenders.
7' FIRST SHOT ON GOAL
Fulham have the first effort on goal, but Parker's effort is a tame one and Boruc gathers easily.
5' BOOST FOR THE VISITORS
It has to be a huge boost for the visitors having the big-money signing Victor Wanyama in the centre of their midfield.
4' HOW THEY LINE UP
Holtby has started on the right for Fulham and Duff on the left. Kvist is occupying a holding role in the early going.
2' PAYING THEIR RESPECTS
Before the start there was a minute's applause for Fulham director Dennis Turner, who died this week.
1' HERE WE GO
Fulham get the game under way.

0' TEAM NEWS
Fulham hand debuts to Lewis Holtby and William Kvist, who are among the four changes Rene Meulensteen makes to his side following the defeat at Swansea. Damien Duff and Darren Bent are also recalled. Rickie Lambert starts for Southampton and the influential Victor Wanyama returns after a lengthy lay-off with injury.
0' PREVIEW
There will be a different look to the Fulham side that welcomes Southampton to Craven Cottage on Saturday. The Premier League strugglers have given their squad an overhaul in the January transfer window, with former Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov deemed surplus to requirements and sent out on loan to French side Monaco. The Cottagers hope that big money signing Kostas Mitroglou will be the man to replace Berbatov, but the prolific Greece frontman completed his move beyond the midday UK deadline on Friday and is not eligible to play in this match. One new man who could feature, though, is Lewis Holtby, who has signed on loan from Spurs until the end of the season. Southampton were fairly quiet on deadline day, but they did their big spending last summer and have a happy and settled squad who are performing up to expectations. Fulham, by contrast, are simply desperate for the points, and manager Rene Meulensteen will be well aware that three of his side's next four league games after today are at Manchester United and at home to Liverpool and Chelsea. Today's game kicks off at 1500GMT, so join us around 30 minutes beforehand when we should have the confirmed team news, which will be followed by a match commentary.
0' PLAYERS TO WATCH
It says much about Fulham's problems when you have to look up their leading scorer and find that it is midfielder Steve Sidwell with five. The former Reading and Chelsea man has actually netted in the Cottagers' last three home games in all competitions and all but one of his Premier League goals this season have been at home. In fact, they've all been in London, because the sole away strike came at Crystal Palace. Jay Rodriguez has been one of the stars for Saints this season and Mauricio Pochettino's men are going to have to rely even more on the former Burnley man with Dani Osvaldo's training ground bust-up leading to his departure to Juventus on loan. Adam Lallana, with six goals and six assists, is another one to catch the eye of Premier League watchers and England manager Roy Hodgson. Watch out too for Jose Fonte, who scored for Saints against Arsenal in midweek. He scored twice against Fulham last season, though don't waste your money on a first-goalscorer wager because his last away goal came at Brighton nearly three years ago.
0' HEAD TO HEAD
Southampton have the better head-to-head record in league meetings between the sides with 22 wins to 16 by Fulham and 19 games being drawn. At Craven Cottage, Fulham have 15 wins to just two by Saints, with a further 11 meetings ending up all square. The first meeting between the sides this season on Oct. 26 saw Southampton win 2-0 with goals from Rickie Lambert (20 mins) and Jay Rodriguez (42). Lambert was also on the mark in this corresponding match last season, netting a late penalty to earn a point in the Boxing Day fixture after Dimitar Berbatov had given the home side an early lead.
0' FORM GUIDE
Fulham start the day in 19th place with 19 points from 23 games, one more than bottom club Cardiff. They have collected only 10 points at home, the fewest in the division apart from West Ham. Fulham have lost their last three and 12 of their last 15 matches. They were hammered 4-1 by Sunderland in their last home game. Southampton lie ninth with 32 points after gaining a creditable draw at home with Arsenal in midweek. They are unbeaten in three, but have won just two of their last 12 and since their impressive win at Anfield back in September they have collected just one other away win, at Cardiff on Boxing Day.
0' EARLY TEAM NEWS
Fulham have doubts over defenders John Arne Riise (hamstring) and Fernando Amorebieta (knee). Rickie Lambert is fit again for Southampton after recovering from a hamstring problem and there may even be a place for the influential Victor Wanyama who would feature for the first time since suffering a leg fracture in the home defeat by Aston Villa at the start of December. Dejan Lovren and Gaston Ramirez are both still missing due to ankle ligament injuries.
0' MAN IN THE MIDDLE
Taking charge of today's game is Mike Jones, who has been refereeing since he was 15 and who became a member of the select group of Premier League officials in 2008-09. The Chester official has shown 37 yellow cards in his eight top-flight appointments to date this season and dismissed one man, Hull City's Yannick Sagbo, in the first half of the Tigers' 1-0 win over Norwich back in August. The assistants today are Gary Beswick and Ian Hussin, while David Coote is the fourth official.
