2nd-tier Bolton fires manager Coyle EPL Headlines
BOLTON, England (AP) Bolton has fired manager Owen Coyle after the club's poor start to the second-tier League Championship following its relegation from the Premier League. Bolton is 18th in the 24-team standings with 11 points from 10 games. Bolton chairman Phil Gartside said Tuesday "it is the right time for a change." Coyle was praised for the way he supported Fabrice Muamba after the midfielder suffered an on-field cardiac arrest during an FA Cup match at Tottenham in March. But his team's 11-year stint in the country's top division came to an end and it has won just three matches this season. Updated October 9, 2012 |
