LONDON (AP) West Ham striker Andy Carroll will be sidelined for up to two months with a left knee injury.

Manager Sam Allardyce says the injury is more severe than initially feared and is "a big blow for us."

Speaking before Saturday's match against Chelsea, Allardyce said it will be "six to eight weeks" before Carroll returns to action.

The setback comes just a week after Carroll got his first West Ham goal since joining the London club on loan from Liverpool in August.
