Demba Ba completes move to Chelsea from Newcastle

LONDON (AP) Chelsea has signed Senegal striker Demba Ba from Newcastle on a 3 1/2-year contract.

Ba joined the European champions on Friday and is eligible for Saturday's FA Cup match at Southampton.

Ba was halfway through a three-year Newcastle contract but Chelsea activated a release clause in his deal.
