Perth Glory interested in signing Michael Owen EPL Headlines
PERTH, Australia (AP) Former England striker Michael Owen is reported to be interested in playing for Perth Glory in the A-League. A local Western Australian newspaper report quoted a team spokesman as saying the club was interested in signing the current Stoke City player who has scored 40 goals in 89 internationals for England. It said Owen's agent had been in contact with the team, but that negotiations were in their early stages. The 33-year-old Owen, who has also played at Liverpool, Real Madrid and Manchester United, would join Juventus and Italy great Alessandro Del Piero (Sydney FC), former England striker Emile Heskey (Newcastle) and Japan's Shinji Ono (Western Sydney) as recent A-League marquee signings.
