Augsburg beats Werder Bremen 3-1`in Bundesliga European Football Headlines
FRANKFURT, Germany (AP) Augsburg notched its first Bundesliga victory of the season and moved off the bottom of the standings with a 3-1 win over Werder Bremen on Friday. The hosts struck early when Tobias Werner headed home from five meters (yards) off a cross from Paul Verhaegh in the second minute. Kevin de Bruyne equalized for Bremen in the 19th with a free kick from some 40 meters out. But Augsburg regained the lead for good in the 32nd when Stephan Hain latched onto a pass from Knowledge Musone to score from close range. Daniel Baier's free kick in the 73rd secured the win and handed Bremen its fourth loss of the season. Updated October 5, 2012
