It's over, 2-2 tie After one last save by DC United goalkeeper Josh Wicks on FCD's Pablo Ricchetti off a free kick, the game ends in a 2-2 tie. With the point, DC has 33 on the year (7-5-12) to move them into a five-way tie for the last three playoff spots. Meanwhile, Dallas, now 6-11-6 on the year and 0-2-1 in their last three, has 24 points, nine points back.

Cunningham shot wide As three minutes of stoppage time begins, Dallas again worked the ball in deep and generated a tough shot on goal by Jeff Cunningham, but it drifted wide of the right post.

Close call for Dallas FC Dallas continue to press aggressively for the go-ahead goal. David Ferreira, who already has a goal and an assist in the match, made a nice move deep on the left side of the penalty area to slip around DC's Andrew Jacobson, who had just entered the game, and cut towards the goal. Facing DC goalkeeper Josh Wicks on a sharp angle, Ferreira's shot went wide on the short side.

Quaranta blast just wide for DC DC United nearly took advantage of a blatant Dallas giveaway, but Santino Quaranta's booming shot from just beyone the left corner of the penalty area drifted just wide of the upper left goal post. The play came after a cross from DC's Rodney Wallace was weakly cleared by Dallas defender Jair Benitez right to Quaranta. Consider that a bullet dodged by Dallas, who had been pressing around the DC penalty area for the previous couple of minutes without a shot on goal.

Save Wicks on Cunningham In their attempt to snap the 2-2 tie, Dallas managed to get another shot on goal, but Jeff Cunningham's off-speed shot from 10 yards out was stopped fairly routinely by DC goalkeeper Josh Wicks. Dallas has probably had the edge in play over the last 10 minutes or so, but do not have anything to show for it. For them to keep their slim-to-none post-season chances alive, they need all three points from this one.

Mass substitutions, for both sides First, FC Dallas coach Schellas Hyndman inserted Brek Shea into the match in place of midfielder Dave van den Bergh. Ostensibly, since Shea is more of an attacking forward, it would appear Dallas is pushing for more offense, although van den Bergh did register two assists tonight. Then DC coach Tom Soehn opted to insert striker Luciano Emilio into the match, with Hyndman countering with defender Blake Wagner coming in for defender George John.

Dallas pressing, can't convert FC Dallas just spent the past two minutes buzzing around the DC penalty area, generating three corner kicks and coming close to getting prime shot attempts several times, but ultimately were unable to capitalize. On one corner kick, by FCD's Dave van den Bergh, the ball appeared to hit DC defender Bryan Namoff's hand in the box, but despite vociferous lobbying by Dallas midfielder Dax McCarty, no PK was called. Regardless, this is a good sign for Dallas to keep battling in the face of the crushing double whammy of a phantom PK that led to the tying goal, as well as having to now play with just 10 men.

Big save Sala off Burch free kick Dallas goalkeeper Dario Sala made his third impressive save off a dangerous free kick by DC's Marc Burch. On a similar play to the one when he scored in the 44th minute, Burch drilled a hard low shot off the free kick from the middle of the field about 10-15 yards beyond the penalty area. Sala made a sliding save to keep the match tied 2-2.
58'
Goal DC, now tied 2-2 DC tied the match 2-2 on a disputed penalty kick goal by Jaime Moreno. On the PK, Moreno drilled a hard low shot past Dallas goalkeeper Dario Sala inside the left goalpost, but the play that set up the PK was hotly contested by Dallas to no avail. DC's Santino Quaranta raced up the right flank with Dallas defender Daniel Torres chasing him into the penalty area. As Quaranta approached Sala, his right foot appeared to kick the ground and he tumbled to the turf and not only was the PK indicated, but Torres was ejected with a red card.

Dallas pushing the tempo now After taking a 2-1 lead in the 50th minute, Dallas has picked up the quality of their play significantly, pressuring DC in their end of the field.

Goal Dallas, now lead 2-1 FC Dallas just took a 2-1 lead on David Ferreira's fifth goal of the season. Despite being outplayed by DC for the opening five minutes of the second half, it just took one play for Dallas to snap the 1-1 tie. Dave van den Bergh delivered a nice pass from the left side into the middle, where DC defender Julius James missed a header attempt, allowing Ferreira to control the ball and drill a hard shot high to the left side of the net, past DC goalkeeper Josh Wicks. Big goal for Dallas, who have re-established themselves in this match in a big way.

DC picks up where they left off DC United has come out for the second half the way they ended the first, with guns a-blazing. A nice three-way passing play ended up on Rodney Wallace's foot at the penalty dot, but his shot deflected wide of the left goalpost. Then the ensuing corner kick by Jaime Moreno found its way to the front of the net, but was rolled wide by Santino Quaranta. Good start for DC.

Underway in second half We are back underway here at Pizza Hut Park, as DC United attempts to leap over five teams into fifth place in the MLS, if they can complete the comeback from a 1-0 first-half deficit. With the match tied late in the first half by Marc Burch (his first of the season and just his second career MLS goal in his 63rd game), DC definitely has the momentum and hopes to win their second straight road game after going nine away matches without a triumph (0-4-5).

End of first half, tied 1-1 Following five minutes of stoppage time, the first half is over with the clubs tied 1-1. DC, with the late goal, clearly has the momentum heading into the second half, while Dallas is undoubtedly frustrated at allowing the equalizer so close to the intermission.

Goal DC, now tied 1-1 DC United has evened up this match 1-1 on a goal initially credited to Marc Burch for his first of the season. It came off yet another point-blank free kick for DC, after Dallas midfielder Dax McCarty fouled DC's Santino Quaranta about 10 yards beyond the penalty area in the middle of the field. Burch delivered another of his hard, low shots under the leaping Dallas wall, but this time, the ball nicked off the inside of FC Dallas defender Pablo Ricchetti's foot, changing direction just enough for the ball to elude Dallas goalkeeper Dario Sala and settle in the back of the net. Big goal for DC, crushing blow for Dallas just before halftime.
41'
Save Sala on Burch free kick again FC Dallas goalkeeper Dario Sala again made a nice sliding save on DC's Marc Burch off a dangerous free kick. This time, Dallas defender George John fouled DC's Santino Quaranta about five yards outside the penalty area. So Burch drilled another hard low shot under the leaping Dallas wall, but Sala made the stop. Close call for DC, who has basically taken control of this match, despite trailing 1-0.
37'
Davies out with concussion, subbed out FC Dallas rookie defender Kyle Davies suffered a concussion before he was substituted out of the match by coach Schellas Hyndman in the 30th minute. In Davies' place, Hyndman inserted Daniel Torres.

Another close call for DC DC United continued its surge in momentum with another prime opportunity. After Dallas defender George John committed a foul against DC's Chris Pontius, DC United had a free kick from a dangerous spot in the middle of the field, about 10 yards beyond the penalty area. Off the free kick, Marc Burch ripped a low shot on goal (under the leaping Dallas wall) that FC Dallas goalkeeper Dario Sala stopped, but the ball popped loose and DC's Devon McTavish charged in to slip the ball just wide of the far goalpost. Another close call for DC, who have controlled the ball for the majority of the last 5-7 minutes.
28'
Close call for DC, save Sala DC United generated a prime scoring chance off pure hustle by Santino Quaranta. Quaranta was chasing after a loose ball in Dallas territory that appeared to be too far ahead of him, but he outraced FC Dallas defender Pablo Ricchetti and caught up to it about seven yards before it went over the end line on the right side of the penalty area, immediately launching a hard shot on goal that forced Dallas goalkeeper Dario Sala to make a nice diving save.
26'
DC somewhat stabilized now After going down 1-0 and surrendering another golden opportunity that FC Dallas' Jeff Cunningham rang off the goalpost just a minute later, DC United has stabilized somewhat. Dallas has still controlled the ball for the most part, but have not been able to generate much in the way of offense since then.
19'
Cunningham almost strikes again, off post FC Dallas nearly took a two-goal lead less than a minute after going up 1-0, as Jeff Cunningham ripped a shot off the goalpost. After David Ferreira's pass found him at the top of the penalty area in the middle, Cunningham took a couple of steps and unleashed a low right-footed shot past DC's diving goalkeeper Josh Wicks, but it struck the left post and bounced out of bounds. A very close call there that would have certainly changed the complexion of the match had it gone in.
18'
Goal Dallas, now lead 1-0 FC Dallas takes the early lead on Jeff Cunningham's 10th goal of the season. After Dave van den Bergh lofted a nice lead ball in front of him, Cunningham outraced DC defender Julius James to it, and then, as DC goalkeeper Josh Wicks charged out at him, Cunningham managed to chip it high over Wicks from about 15 yards out and into the vacated net. Big goal for Cunningham, who is now tied for second in the MLS in goals scored.
13'
DC chance, Wallace shot rolls wide DC United came back the other way on a counter-attack, and a nice move by Chris Pontius set up their first scoring chance. Pontius controlled the ball in the middle at the top of the arc before sliding the ball over to Rodney Wallace, who was wide open on the left flank. Wallace was one-on-one with Dallas goalkeeper Dario Sala, but his shot from 15 yards out rolled just wide of the far post.
12'
Ihemelu shot way wide FC Dallas had another opportunity, as newcomer Ugo Ihemelu led a rush up the right side, and with no one in front of him, Ihemelu boomed a right-footed shot from the edge of the penalty area, but it sailed high and wide. With such point-blank positioning for a big shot, Dallas needs him to execute better.
9'
Close call for Dallas, nice save Wicks FC Dallas just generated the game's first legitimate scoring chance, as newcomer Ugo Ihemelu, who just joined the club this past week, made a nice cut inside off the right flank before delivering a cross into the middle of the box. There, a sliding David Ferreira managed to get his foot on it, but DC goalkeeper Josh Wicks was there to make the save. Nice play by Dallas. Ihemelu already seems to be fitting in nicely with them.
7'
Pontius breakaway wiped out by offsides call DC United thought they had a clear breakaway from nearly mid-field, but Chris Pontius was ruled to have been offsides. So far, neither team has been able to generate much offense, as most of the play has taken place in the middle 40 yards of the pitch.

Underway in Dallas We are underway here at Pizza Hut Park, where FC Dallas hopes to keep alive their dwindling playoff hopes in a match against DC United. Dallas, 6-11-5 on the year but 5-3-3 at home, has lost two in a row and hopes to claw their way back into contention, even though they currently sit 10 points back of the final playoff spot. DC, 7-5-11 on the season, is one point behind a four-way tie for the last three post-season slots. With a 2-5-6 road record, DC has won just once in their last 10 matches away from RFK Stadium, their last contest last weekend at Chicago.
