Court rejects Red Bull Ricciardo appeal

PARIS (AP) Red Bull is "disappointed" but now focused on the upcoming Chinese Grand Prix after a court on Tuesday rejected its appeal against the disqualification of driver Daniel Ricciardo at the season-opening race in Australia.

The ruling from the International Court of Appeal, motorsport's dispute-resolution tribunal, means Ricciardo won't get back the 18 points he otherwise would have scored with a second-place finish in Melbourne. Read More...

Paris court hears Red Bull appeal

PARIS (AP) Mercedes tore into Formula One rival Red Bull at an appeals court hearing Monday over the disqualification of Daniel Ricciardo at the Australian Grand Prix, saying the team flouted rules and must be put on notice to stop it from becoming a repeat offender.

The court said it expected to deliver its ruling by Tuesday morning. In its appeal, Red Bull argued that race officials should not have stripped Ricciardo of his second-place finish, and the 18 points that go with it, for breaching F1's new rules on fuel usage. Read More...

Bell to leave Mercedes at end of season

DARLINGTON, S.C. (AP) NASCAR team owner Gene Haas said Friday he has been granted a license from Formula One's governing body to start a U.S.-based entry in the series, perhaps as early as next season.

SAKHIR, Bahrain (AP) Lewis Hamilton edged Mercedes teammate Nico Rosberg after an intense race-long duel to take victory by just one second at the Bahrain Grand Prix on Sunday.
