Dayton women defeat No. 25 DePaul 92-80

CHICAGO (AP) Amber Deane scored 27 points to lead Dayton to a 92-80 victory over No. 25 DePaul in the championship game of the Maggie Dixon Classic Saturday night.

Three other players scored in double figures for the Flyers (2-0). Olivia Applewhite scored 13 points, Sam Mackay scored 12 and Ally Malott had 10 points and 10 rebounds for Dayton, which shot 51 percent from the field. The Flyers led 48-35 at halftime.

Jasmine Penny led the Blue Demons (1-1) with 20 points. Katherine Harry had 18 points and 13 rebounds for DePaul, and Anna Martin had 13 points and nine assists.

Dayton defeated Mississippi Valley State 93-59 on Friday to reach the title game while DePaul beat Nicholls State 87-57.
