No. 23 Dayton women top Wright State 95-73

FAIRBORN, Ohio (AP) Ally Malott and Samantha Mackay each pitched in 20 points as No. 23 Dayton earned a 95-73 win over Wright State Wednesday night in a nonconference contest.

The win moves the Flyers to 7-0, the program's best start since moving to Division I in 1984-85.

Mackay earned her points with 6-of-9 shooting from 3-point range, while Malott also grabbed seven rebounds.

Jodie Cornelie-Sigmundova, last week's Atlantic 10 Conference Rookie of the Week, posted 15 points and a team-high eight rebounds. Andrea Hoover and Cassie Sant each had 12 points, with Hoover adding seven rebounds.

Ivory James led Wright State with 22 points.

Dayton held a 58-46 rebounding advantage, and scored 19 second-chance points.

The Raiders (2-5) trailed 53-27 at halftime, but cut the deficit to 72-62 with 7:56 left. The comeback attempt ended there, though, as Wright State was outscored 23-11 the rest of the way.
