FULL-TIME It's all over in Durban and Portugal have absolutely smashed North Korea in a stunning second half performance, winning 7-0. Korea are now definitely out of the World Cup, but the Portuguese now have a staggering goal difference to help their cause in the final round of games. There was some sensational football after the break, with Ronaldo at the forefront of a scintillating display that carved Korea open time and time again.
MORE ON THAT GOAL Veloso's curled delivery in from the left was met by Tiago, who angled his header into the bottom corner, leaving the keeper with no chance whatsoever. This is a battering, and the biggest win of the World Cup by some distance.
GOOAAALLL!!! Tiago makes it 7-0 with a fine header, but that's cruel for a North Korea side who have done little wrong.
MORE ON THAT GOAL! Ronaldo burst through and just got to the ball before the keeper. His chip deflected off Myong-Guk Ri and rolled onto the back of the Portugal number seven, fortuitously falling into his path and giving him an open goal to aim it. It's the least that Ronaldo deserves after a lively second half performance.
GOOAAALLL!!! It's Cristiano Ronaldo to make it six with his first international goal for just under two years.
HOW MANY MORE? Portugal have already scored more than any other team at this tournament - what will be the final score?
MORE ON THAT GOAL An innocuous ball into the box caused havoc in the Korea defence, and a sliced clearance fell right to Liedson, who hammered home on the volley. It's 5-0, and that's harsh on North Korea!
GOOAAALLL!!! It's the sub Liedson who's got it, slamming home from an angle after some sloppy defending.
CH-CH-CHANGES Korean have also made a change, bringing on Nam Song-Chol for the hugely impressive Cha Jong-Hyok.
PORTUGAL CHANGE Almeida has worked his socks off and is given a deserved rest, replaced by Liedson.
THE LIFE'S GONE OUT OF IT Since Portugal's burst at the start of the half, the game has died down a little, with Portugal content to burst forward.
THE PEOPLE'S ROONEY Jong Tae-Se has come to life as the game opens up and finds the side netting after another lively run.
OFF THE BAR Ronaldo breaks from the half-way line, jinking inside and letting fly with a trademark swerving, dipping drive, which beats the keeper all ends up... only to cannon back off the bar. That was a sensational effort!
HE'S PUT IT WIDE! Coentrao and Ronaldo link up, with the former slotting a shot wide of the far post when he should have scored. Portugal are ripping the Korean defence apart at will now.
OVER THE BAR Hong Yong-Jo's snap shot pings just over the bar. It's good to see that the Koreans haven't stopped pressing forward despite the rush of goals against them since half time.
SHOULD HAVE SCORED! Another stunning break by Portugal sends Ronaldo clear down the right. His ball across the ball is perfect, but Meireles fails to hit the target from yards out with only the keeper to beat. Shocking miss!
MORE ON THAT GOAL Ronaldo was just onside with his incisive run, but the Korean defence has been torn apart since the break and they've had no answer to Portugal's incisive passing game.
GOOAAALLL!!! It's another for Portugal, and this time it's Tiago who finds the back of the net. Ronaldo bursts onto a ball down the left, keeps his composure to pick out the on-rushing midfielder on the edge of the box, and Tiago plants the ball in the corner, leaving the despairing keeper with little chance.
CHANGE FOR KOREA Mun In-Guk is replaced by the supposedly promising youngster Kim Yong-Jun.
MORE ON THAT GOAL It was a lightning counter-attack, and Coentrao again provided the cutting edge, bursting clear down the left and whipping over a cross that gave the centre-forward the easiest of headers to find the back of the net.
GOOAAALLL!!! This is turning into a rout as Almeida makes it 3-0.
MORE ON THAT GOAL It was a lovely move to put Simao clear in the area, and the veteran kept his cool to meg the keeper and put his side two up.
GOOAAALLL!!! Simao makes it 2-0 to Portugal and surely that's this game done and dusted.
NICE ROUTINE A clever free-kick routine tees up Jong Tae-Se, whose shot thumps into the arms of Eduardo at the foot of his near post.
GOALKEEPING HASH Myong-Guk Ri spills the ball twice, almost allowing Almeida a chance to tuck the ball into an empty net. However he's rescued by Cha Jong-Hyok.
SECOND HALF The second 45 minutes are underway and Portugal are immediately on the offensive.
HALF TIME The whistle goes to bring an end to a half in which North Korea have done themselves proud once again. However, Meireles' goal has given Portugal a 1-0 lead from the opening 45, but they'll have to up their game after the break to finish off a Korean side who look capable of scoring on the break.
GOT A FACE ON Ronaldo has been kept quiet in the main for this half, and is on his backside once again. Why? Because someone had the affront to tackle him cleanly! What a liberty!
HALF A CHANCE Coentrao has been the stand-out man for Portugal, taking the game to North Korea down the left. He skins his full-back again and slides a ball into the box, just failing to present Almeida with a decent shooting opportunity.
ANOTHER TESTER Ronaldo bursts forward and fizzes in a shot, but it's comfortably into the arms of Myong-Guk Ri. That's the first time that the world's most expensive player has shown his true quality.
INTO THE WALL Carvalho stands firm in the wall and gets in the way of a pile-driver.
YELLOW CARD Mendes is booked for a poor challenge and gives away a free-kick in a dangerous shooting area. Get this on target in these conditions and it'll cause the keeper all sorts of problems.
ALMOST A SECOND A messy misunderstanding in the centre of the North Korea defence almost gifts Meireles a second goal, but his shot is sliced horribly wide.
YELLOW CARD Pak Chol-Jin has gone into the referee's book for dissent.
MORE ON THAT GOAL Tiago's perfectly weighted through-ball picks out the clever run of Meireles inside the area, and the midfielder coolly slots the ball past the keeper. It's tough on the Koreans, but probably just about reflects the balance of play.
GOOAAALLL!!! Meireles opens the scoring for Portugal!
FLAGGED OFFSIDE Hong Yong-Jo is at the hub of a lively breakaway, but the skipper is (incorrectly) flagged offside as Korea look for the cutting edge.
ENTRENCHED IN THEIR HALF Korea have struggled to get hold of the ball for the last five minutes or so and just can't relieve the pressure. It's been wave after wave of Portugal attacks, but they have created little in the way of clear-cut chances.
LAST-DITCH DEFENDING A cross to the back post seems destined to find the head of Meireles, but Cha Jong-Hyok does brilliantly to turn and get a touch to the ball to clear the danger. The full-back's had a terrific start to the game.
ATROCIOUS CONDITIONS Ahn Yong-Hak slides a shot wide of the post. It's got to be worth shooting from anywhere now as the rain is teeming down in Durban.
YET MORE ATTACKING QUALITY Hong Yong-Jo - who has been a real nuisance for the Portugal defence so far - tests Eduardo with a stinging shot, and the keeper can only parry. However, the bouncing ball is just too high for Pak Nam-Chol, and the midfielder's header flies over the bar.
WHAT A CHANCE! Jong Tae-Se is picked out in the box after lovely build-up by Hong Yong-Jo, but the striker's touch is poor when any sort of decent control would have given him a golden chance to open the scoring.
STUNNING STRIKE Cha Jong-Hyok hits a stunning first-time strike that fizzes just wide of the post, with the keeper beaten all ends up.
A COMFORTABLE SAVE Almeida is caught offside, but didn't see the flag and tested the keeper with a low drive.
DENIED BY THE POST! A Simao corner is wildly flapped at by the keeper, and it reaches Carvalho at the far post. The defender's header is high enough to evade the men on the line, but cannons back off the post.
IT'S ALL PORTUGAL The Koreans are on the ropes as Portugal attack in numbers, creating space with the movement of Simao and Ronaldo.
SKIED IT It's a decent chance for Carvalho who had drifted forward, but the defender's shot on the turn was badly hit and skied over the bar.
EARLY SPARK Ronaldo bursts forward at the North Korea defence and gets a shot away. Dangerous early signs for the Korean defence as Ronaldo was given far too much space.
KICK-OFF Portugal get the game underway at the impressive Green Point Stadium in Durban.
LINE-UPS Portugal make four changes, dropping Deco, Danny, Liedson and Ferreira, replacing them with Tiago, Simao, Ameida and Miguel. North Korea are unchanged.
THE ANTHEMS The teams are out and belt out their respective anthems with the differing passion that you'd expect.
EARLY TEAM NEWS The Koreans are expected to stick with the same side, but Portugal will make changes. Deco is out injured and likely to be replaced by Tiago, while the poor performance of Danny in the 0-0 draw with Ivory Coast has led to speculation that he may be replaced with Simao.
PREVIEW North Korea impressed many with their display against Brazil when lost by a single goal, but defeat against Portugal would leave them out of the World Cup after just two games. Carlos Queiroz's side were off colour in their goalless draw with Ivory Coast, and with a game against Brazil coming at the end of the group, the Portuguese will be desperate to get three points here.
