Bio

Steady with the ball at his feet, and adept at providing long passes from his left back position, Izaguirre is one of the "glue guys" for Honduras heading to the World Cup. He started seven of the final eight World Cup qualifying matches for Los Catrachos, who won five of them as they secured direct passage to South Africa. Izaguirre has one goal in 39 international appearances, coming in 2007 against Trinidad and Tobago in a friendly. One of the up-and-coming players on the team at 24 years old, he also appeared in the U-20 World Youth Championship in 2005, and the U-23 World Cup in 2007. Izaguirre had been linked to European moves each of the past two years, but failed to get a work visa in 2008 to play for English Championship side Ipswich Town, and a move to Belgian side Anderlecht last year never materialized.
