BioCapable of changing a game with flair by scoring a goal or setting up a teammate with outstanding vision, Kaka is one of the best players in the world and perhaps the most recognizable. He'll appear in his third World Cup in South Africa and will be the key offensive cog if Brazil is going to make a run at a sixth world championship. He was on the 2002 World Cup championship team but played only one game. While playing as an attacking midfielder right behind the forwards, Kaka has the ability to beat defenders on the dribble, shoot from long range or thread a pass to a teammate. Those skills have helped him earn a number of individual honors, including 2007 FIFA World Player of the Year, 2007 European Footballer of the Year and two-time Serie A Footballer of the Year (2004, 2007). He also was named to Time's 100 most influential people in the world in 2008. Additionally, Kaka is known for being a devout evangelical Christian and for his humanitarian work for the United Nations. After scoring goals, he points to the sky to thank God, and after winning championships, he's removed his jersey to reveal a shirt that says "I Belong to Jesus." That may lend to why his attitude is unquestioned while being considered one of the best team players despite his sublime individual skill. He's transfered those attributes to the field, and became a star at Brazil's Sao Paulo before moving to Milan of Italy's Serie A in 2003. In Italy, he entered super-stardom while leading Milan to a 2004 league title and the 2007 Champions League and FIFA Club World Cup crowns. Real Madrid paid around 65 million Euros to sign him from Milan last summer, making it the third-most expensive transfer in the history of the game. Injuries, however, have hampered Kaka's debut season with Madrid. Player Stats
