BioBarry may be the most important player for the Ivory Coast as it plays in a group that features five-time champion Brazil and a Portugal squad led by superstar Cristiano Ronaldo. The first-choice goalkeeper played well in helping the Elephants qualify for the World Cup, conceding six goals in 11 matches and posting six clean sheets. Barry is incredibly agile, athletic and quick, though these traits also hide the fact he is wildly inconsistent and still needs to improve on his positioning. He did not play as well in the African Nations Cup as Ivory Coast fell to Algeria 3-2 in extra time in the quarterfinals following a win over Ghana and scoreless draw versus Burkina Faso. This will be Barry's second World Cup, having backstopped Ivory Coast to a 3-2 win over Serbia-Montenegro in the final group match in 2006. He also appeared in one World Cup qualifier in 2002 and one in 2006 before taking over the starter's role. At the club level, Barry has been with Belgian side KSC Lokeren since 2007 and had also played for KSK Beveren in Belgium from 2003-07. Player Stats
