One of two players with the same name on the squad, Nam-Choi Pak Sr. distinguishes himself from his namesake by being the more offensive-minded of the two. Pak Sr. was a part-time starter during qualifying and netted his lone goal in the run-up to South Africa in a 2-0 victory over the United Arab Emirates on March 28, 2009. He started the final five qualifiers as North Korea booked its first World Cup ticket since its only appearance in 1966. At the club level, he's been with North Korean side April 25 since 2004.
